1932-1948 Car & Truck Parts
In 1929 Henry Ford began plans to develop vehicles with 8-cylinder engines to rival the 6-cylinder models being produced by Chevrolet. After only a few short years of development, Ford rolled out their Flathead V8 engine, making Ford the first company to sell low-priced, mass-produced cars equipped with such an engine. It was such an immediate success that they could barely keep up with demand for production. Success with the Flathead V8 carried over well into the 1940s, thanks to the wide range of body styles available.
